Description

The botanical garden (Roseto botanico) "Carla Fineschi", in Cavriglia, is one of the largest rose gardens in the world. It contains more than eight thousand rose varieties: there are wild roses that have passed unscathed habitat mutations, there are the "species", i.e. archaic roses, and hybrid roses that are the result of crossings and variations. The oldest "species" has more than 40 million years, but there are also "younger" roses as the hybrids obtained from mid-1800. The garden is open to visitors in the period from the first Sunday in May to the last Sunday in June, every day from 9 am to 7 pm.
