Only the walls of the ancient Cistercian abbey dedicated to San Galgano are still standing: their gothic architecture and the roof open to the sky make this monument an incredibly suggestive place. The hermitage next to the abbey encloses a stone with a sword: the legend tells that Galgano stuck his sword into the rock to turn the weapon to a cross.
