Description

There is a ghost town in the surroundings of Cavriglia: it is the old and impressive village of Castelnuovo dei Sabbioni, abandoned because the mining excavations threatened to bring it down. Here you can now visit the Museum of mining and lands (MINE). In the museum, through interaction with the modern technologies, the visitor is involved in the history and in the mining events that have shaped this territory.
